Quattro Formaggi came in heat and was mated with Norbert for the night. :-)

A few days ago, Koekie passed away of old age..

She's born in Warsaw, Poland.

I'll have to be patient... 3 months until I go pick her up (when I'm attending a show in Czech Republic)

I'd let Kaida put to sleep unexpectedly. She had a swollen face, I thought is was an abcess under her eye. The vet made an incision when she was under anesthetic, but it wasn't an infection, it was a tumor.  I didn't let her wake up anymore.

May I ask about their ears regarding show? Fanny's girls' ears really are something to me xD They look (at least, to me!) very different from what I am used to (mostly UK rats). Always wanted to know more about it!

Hahaha! Great question! Rian's rats are somewhat "known" by their huge, sometimes terrible ears. We call it "Rapalje ears" in the Netherlands.

I bred my Rapalje back to a brother of Leopold (with pretty nice ears) and well, they've all got ears like mum. It's hard to bred out.

To be honest, I don't have one rat with perfect ears.

By the way: this is my new girl Umay, I picked her up in Czech Republic last week!

 

She's BIG, 370g already - I've to put her on a diet before I can breed her. XD

Her sister is tiny, 235g, you wouldn't say they're from the same litter... lol

I think Leo was average, but the girls are just funny Happy (Leo's daughter) is ok, no "Rapalje ears" and I hope her babies will follow the same path lol

Neither do I ! Some have good ones but that's not because of my hard work Must say I took it all from UK breeders

I'll breed one of Rian's rats asap, he's the brother of Fanny's girls... very curious about their ears - because it's linebreeding to the Rapalje's.
